I first noticed this stall at People's Park Complex Food Centre and there were a lot of customers ordering their food. After observing the customers before us, the cooked food was between yong tau foo and zi char.

Yomenya Goemon is a Japanese restaurant that serves pasta, pizza and side dishes. I dined many times at Marina Bay Link Mall. Today, I had a strong craving for the pasta and decided to have dinner there.

Formerly located at the Old National Library, Nam Seng Noodles and Fried Rice relocated at Far East Square. The first shop was established in 1958 and it remains a favourite with Singaporeans, both young and old. 



Priced at $5.00, Venison Hor Fun (Venison Broad Flat Rice Noodles) was a generous portion.  Furthermore, it was my first time having verison hor fun. In most seafood restaurants, you can see the common hor fun dishes like fried beef hor fun, beef hor fun in gravy, and seafood hor fun. What I liked about this hor fun was the tender venison. The hor fun was also fragrant. Combined with tender venison and rich gravy, the hor fun was delectable. Eating it with preserved green chilli slices enhanced the delicious aroma of the hor fun. I think it was a good choice and I must thank my colleagues for bringing me there for lunch. I cannot wait to try the other foods at Nam Seng. (Food rating: 3.5/5)

Since my first dining experience at Dean and Deluca, it has always been a fantastic place for my gatherings with friends and colleagues. The location is conducive and the food was reasonably good. 

This time, I went with a group of girlfriends for dinner. It had been a long time since we last met and it was time to catch up with one another. Each one of us ordered a dish to share and the total bill cost us S$110 for four ladies. Not too bad. We were really big eaters!! :P

It was a pity that I was not able to eat my favourite berries & flapjacks. They said that it was "sold out". I hope to order this when I come back again.


Sautéed Brioche French Toast with Salted Caramelized Bananas and Fresh Berries was a very interesting dish. The dish was served with french toasted drenched with caramel sauce and then sizzled with more caramel sauce. If you are not into sweet desserts, you may want to skip this. The fruits - bananas, strawberries and raspberries were all drenched with caramel sauce. Surprisingly, the vanilla ice cream came to the rescue. The rich vanilla somehow helped dissipate the overpowering sweetness of the caramel sauce.



For starters, we ordered Truffle Fries as it was easier to chat and munch before the entrees arrived. When the fries were served, the mouthwatering truffle aroma started to disperse around us. The fries were not too oily as if they were baked. The truffle oil was generously sizzled onto the fries. You could eat it on its own without any condiments. (Food rating: 4/5)


Pasta of the day - Meat balls with Spaghetti in Tomato sauce was rather ordinary amongst the delicious dishes. The pasta was a little too soft and the meat balls were so so. (Food rating: 2.5/5)


Smoked Duck Salad is a must try. Even though I do not like vegetables a lot, I enjoyed the salad.  I could not taste the bitter and sandy duck meat. Instead, it was tender and soft. The vegetables and herbs in their homemade sauce were delicious too. Together, the salad was immensely enjoyable. (Food rating: 3/5)


This was another sweets we ordered too - The Belgian Stack served with waffles, berries and vanilla ice cream. The waffles were fragrant and the berries tasted great with the sweet vanilla ice cream. Yummy!! (Food rating: 3.5/5)


Raspberry Vanilla Tart was too pretty to eat. It was served first but was the last to be eaten. If you break the tart into two sections - raspberries with sugar icing, and tartlet. I prefer the tartlet to the fruits. The raspberries were a little sour but when eaten with the sugar icing, it was slightly better. The tartlet on the other hand was sweet and delicious. The thick vanilla crust with custard was superbly yummy. Together, this dessert was a fantastic blend of both worlds. (Food rating: 3.5/5)

At Imperial Treasure Nanbei Restaurant - 御宝南北小馆(义安城), it serves an amalgamation of flavours from the best of Northern and Southern Chinese cuisine. Amongst the different Chinese cuisines under the Imperial Treasure group, I love Imperial Treasure Nanbei Restaurant the best. And this is why.

We spent a total of about less than S100 for two persons. Personally, I feel that it is worth it with all the delicious and mouthwatering dishes at Imperial Treasure Nanbei restaurant.

Interestingly, I visited this restaurant about a year ago. I ordered almost the same dishes as of last year. The food quality and standard were still the same and delicious. Way to go, Imperial Treasure Nanbei Restaurant for maintaining the high quality food throughout.


I was feeling cold and decided to start my dinner with a bowl of delicious Double Boiled Chicken Soup (清炖鸡湯). The soup, when served, had a very nice fragrance. The chicken meat was very tender and soft. The broth was very rich and appetising. There was a tint of pepper in the soup. The soup was what I needed to warm the cockles of my heart. (Food rating: 4/5)


Sauteed Egg White with Crab Meat and Conpoy (芙蓉賽螃蟹) is one of my favourite dishes. Besides Crystal Jade restaurant, this restaurant serves one of the better sauteed egg white with crab meat. When served, there was a raw egg yolk on top of the cooked white egg and crab meat. We broke the yolk and stirred them together. The yolk, white and crab meat tasted magnificently delicious. You can eat it on its own. (Food rating: 3.5/5)



If you like to eat wantons, why not order a bowl of Wanton with Hot Chilli Sauce (川辣抄手)? The tender and delicious pork dumplings soaked in spicy sauce. (Food rating: 3/5)


I always love to eat fried rice and it goes without saying. I ordered myself a plate of Fried Rice with Chicken and Ham in "Shanghai" Style (上海风烧饭).  High heat makes perfect wok dishes. The fried rice was extremely fragrant with the heat of the wok. The rice was granular and I could chew every rice grain in my mouth. Fried rice, I love you!! (Food rating: 4/5)


If you have noticed, I have been ordering bean dishes recently. Somehow, I had cultivated a love for french beans, long beans and string beans. Here, I ordered a Fried String Beans with Minced Pork and Chilli (干煸四季豆). When the dish was served, I immediately salivated. The fragrant aroma of this dish swooned me off my feet. The crunchy beans in minced meat were a good match. The minced meat was deliciously marinated and was tender. More importantly, I could taste the heat of the wok in this dish. (Food rating: 3.5/5)


Lastly, Crispy Silver Fish with Garlic and Chilli 椒鹽白饭鱼). This is a must try dish. I love the crispy silver fish and they tasted as if there was curry powder in it. It was addictive too. I kept eating and finished the dish within minutes. So, why not order this and give it a try. (Food rating: 3.5/5)

It was finally Friday. It was time to chill and pamper myself after a week of hard work. I was at Ngee Ann City and saw the restaurant - Imperial Treasure Shanghai Cuisine beckoning me.

We were greeted by the friendly staff who ushered us to our table. The ambience was great and cosy. It made our dining experience pleasant. Our dining experience cost us about S$141.48. 



The first dish served was the Jelly Fish Head (涼拌海蜇). I am afraid of eating the jelly fish but I decided to give this a try. The jelly fish was chewy and the texture was very similar to the white fungus dessert. The marinade was refreshing and delicious. Not so bad for someone who ate this for the first time. (Food rating: 3/5)


Beef with Scallion (姜葱牛肉) was delicious. The soft tender beef slices stir-fried with scallions were heavenly. The sauce was fragrant and I could not stop picking slice after slice. You will wonder how the chef managed to cook so well. (Food rating: 3/5)


One of the main highlight is the Fragrant, delicious white rice. Although it looked very simple, the rice was shiny and fragrant. Every spoonful of rice was heavenly. I could eat the white rice on its own. It was a pity that I had to restrict myself to only one bowl of rice. Otherwise, I would have eaten two or even three bowls of rice. (Food rating: 4/5)




Braised Pig Trotters surprised me. The meat was very soft and disintegrated very easily. The skin was soft like jello. The braised sauce was light and herbal. Heavenly! (Food rating: 3/5)


Braised Meat Balls (紅燒獅子頭) originated from the regions of Yangzhou and Zhejiang and then became a part of the Shanghai cuisine in the 19th and 20th century. This dish comprised of large meat balls stewed with vegetables, mainly cabbage. At Imperial Treasure, the meat balls were huge. After eating 1-2 meat balls, I was already full. This dish, though a little salty, tasted nice with the fragrant white rice. (Food rating: 3/5)



Loved the Thick Soup with Beancurd strips and Crab Roe. I was amazed how the beancurd was cut into the thin strips as it looked very much like egg white. The soup was filled with crab meat and crab roe. I could taste the rich crab roe in the soup. The freshly cooked crab meat chunks were soft. The entire soup was very delicious and lip-smacking. (Food rating: 4/5)


Wantons in Spicy Chilli Oil (紅油抄手) was delicious. I loved the texture of the wanton skin. It was perfectly cooked. The chilli oil with garlic bits was fragrant. (Food rating: 3/5)

Nestled in the tranquil residential neighbourhood of Ang Mo Kio, Burpz Cafe and Bakery offers the very cosy ambience with lots of good food serving from coffee to restaurant food. Located at the intersection between Yio Chu Kang Road and Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5, the cafe offers freshly-brewed coffee, handcrafted bakery, tantalising pastry and a wide variety of comfort entrees.

After trying the delectable brunch at Burpz Cafe, I was back again. This time, I came with my best friend for dinner. Apart from the usual local eateries like coffeeshops and food centres , it is great to have something different and unique for a change in the Ang Mo Kio neighbourhood. Furthermore, I love this tranquil and cosy ambience where I can dine and catch up with my friends and family. It is indeed a great place for gatherings.



We ordered a bowl of mushroom soup, which was the soup of the day. The soup, filled with mushroom bits, had a nice aroma of mushroom fragrance. By smelling this aroma, I was already salivating. This was a scrumptious bowl of soup and was highly recommended. (Food rating: 4/5)



If you love fries but were watching your weight, why not order yourself a portion of oven-baked truffle fries? The fries were baked in the hot oven and then drizzled with truffle oil. So what are truffles? Truffles are fungi that grow underground. As the truffle matures, the fungus dispels aromatic compound that attract animals. It is this marvelous aroma that gives truffles their flavour and makes them so desirable. When the truffle fries were served, the rich truffle fragrance filled the room. The size and thickness of the fries were just nice. Each piece was evenly drizzled with the oil. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft in the insides. It was simply divine that we could not stop eating it. (Food rating: 4/5)




Seafood Marinara Pasta, comprised of spaghetti, prawns, squid, mussels and Burpz's homemade sauce, surprised me. The pasta was perfectly cooked in the al dente style, just the texture I love. The tomato sauce was delicious and mildly sweet. The pasta did not need any garnish or condiments as you could just eat it on its own. As for the seafood, the prawns blew us away. The freshly cooked prawns and squids were crunchy. You would know that they were fresh at one bite. (Food rating: 3.5/5)



We could not resist ordering a half portion of Beer Can Chicken as we had never eaten chicken cooked this way. The chicken was very moist and tender, when served. The chicken breast was not dry at all and the chicken was easy to pull apart. We attacked the chicken skin immediately and the marination was nice. The skin could be crispier. The Beer Can Chicken came with fries and garlic-sauteed carrots and broccoli. (Food rating: 3/5)


Imagine two women feasting at the table full of food like a buffet table, we were almost done and could not eat anymore. Finally, the last dish - Lamb Shank in Guinness. WOW! I must say that this was a gastronomical delight and was worth the wait. This plate heaped with carrots and ambrosial lamb shank. The lamb was soft and moist, and it disintegrated very easily. The carrots were very soft and the sauce was very heavenly. Even when we were almost full, we emptied the lip-smacking dish. It was the highlight of our entire dining experience. Recommended by my friend, I met a group of ex-colleagues for lunch at Burpz Cafe and Bakery. I was greeted by their warm and friendly staff. As for the interior setting, the simple and cosy atmosphere made me feel warm and comfortable. The restaurant used wood materials as part of their decorations and furniture that gave a modern and contemporary setting. Next to the counter, you can see and smell the nice aroma of the three freshly baked types of bread which were available for sale. These include the baguette, walnut and raisin bread, and white bread. A simple modern setting that advocates self-service where customers can pick up condiments like chilli, etc and ice water at the self-collection point.

We ordered four entrees and one dessert to share. As we were indecisive, we asked the staff to recommend for us. Apparently, brunch was served between 11.30am and 2.30pm. We spent SGD68.25 for four persons.

I really love the tranquility with ambience at Burpz Cafe and would love to go back again soon.




Look at the freshly baked loaves of bread in front of the counter. Baguette, Nuts and Raisin bread, and white bread were on sale today.

Camomile Dream Tea was so relaxing and gentle to the stomach.



If you like Korean Kimchi pancakes, you should try Burpz's Special Korean Pancakes. The dish was comprised of pan-fried pancakes topped with grilled bananas and chopped nuts and finally, drizzled with syrup. It tasted both savoury and sweet. The chopped nuts gave the savoury pancakes the extra crunch. Liked the texture of the pancakes! (Food rating: 3/5)


Beer, sausages, peas, carrots, onions, and mashed potatoes are the ingredients to make this Beer Braised Sausages and Peas with Mash Potatoes. Did you just read "Beer"? Yes, you did. The beautiful boiled sausages and delicious mashed potatoes in the yummy beer sauce. The mashed potatoes were rich with a couple of small potato chunks. Of course, you will not get drunk after that. I could taste the juice seeping out from the sausage when I took the first bite. (Food rating: 3/5)



One of my favourite brunch or breakfast dish is the Eggs Benedict. I ordered a Smoked Salmon Egg Benedict which comprised of poached eggs served over smoked salmon and toast and topped with homemade Hollandaise sauce. The smoked salmon slices were delicious. I loved having a small portion of toast, egg, salmon and hollandaise sauce all at once in my mouth. It was delicious! (Food rating: 3.5/5)


The highlight of today's meal was Burpz's Savoury Beer Tart, which comprised of beer, onion, mushrooms, leeks, mixed cheese on puff pastry. The crispy puff pastry topped with mushrooms and mixed cheese were aromatic. The beer tart blew me away. I was immensely addicted to this tart. I ate most of the entire tart, forgetting to share with my friends. :P (Food rating: 4/5)


Never finish a meal without a sweet dessert, says I. We ordered a slice of Salted Caramel Mud Cake to share after a sumptuous meal. The two layer cake comprised of a mud cake topped with salted caramel. I was blown away. The mud cake was very rich in chocolate - my favourite. Initially, I thought that the caramel would taste too sweet. Instead, the sweetness was just nice. Eating both mud cake and salted caramel custard/mousse together was heavenly. This lip-smacking dessert is a must have!! (Food rating: 4/5)
