Food Haven in Hangzhou - Grandma's Home 外婆家

Grandma's Home or Waipojia (外婆家) , a popular restaurant chain, is commonplace in Hangzhou. Located at many part of Hangzhou, West Lake, this restaurant is definitely worth trying the authentic Hangzhou cuisine. We made a short trip to Hangzhou to revisit the beautiful scenic landscape, West Lake. We had a superb accommodation experience at Hangzhou Plaza Hotel, near Wulin Square district. At 10am, the restaurant welcomed its first customers. However, at 10.30am, the entire restaurant was already full. There were people queuing outside the restaurant, waiting for their turn. We ordered both our favourite and new food items this time round. The Tomato with Egg Soup was a simple home-style soup that had a very nice subtle fragrance. The tomato chunks were sweet and fresh. NAUI GAYA serves two famous dishes from the Korean cuisine - Bulgogi and Gopchang, and other Korean specialty dishes. A popular restaurant joints among locals and the store exudes a comfortable and family-like atmosphere. Located within Hyundai Department Store at Trade Centre, the restaurant offers a variety of beef dishes, from BBQ marinated bulgogi beef to beef sukiyaki to beef rib soup. Similar to Seorae BBQ , the Marinated Beef Short Ribs were tender, juicy, and rich in flavour. The taste was heightened when eaten with fresh lettuce leaves and raw green chilli. Food rating: 4/5 (KRW 43,000) Cooked using a Brass Grill and Hotpot Pan, the marinated beef slices was cooked on the grilled and the mushrooms cooked with delicious sukiyaki broth. Speed-Travelling Weekend Getaway - Guangzhou, China

With China relaxing its borders after the pandemic, we flew to Guangzhou - our first destination over the weekend. Our last visit to Guangzhou was in 2015. It is about time that we visit the beautiful and flourishing city. Day 1: Arrival and Get Acquainted with the City We arrived at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (广州白云国际机场) on Saturday morning. We took the subway to the nearest station where our accommodation is located. We stayed at the Oakwood Premier Guangzhou (广州方圆奥克伍德豪景酒店公寓) which is like a business hotel. The hotel is strategically located in the Tianhe District - a new city centre and business district of Guangzhou. The Tianhe district is thriving with many new developments, including skyscrapers and luxurious shopping malls. We took the subway and alighted at 体育西路站.
