Grandma's Home or Waipojia (外婆家) , a popular restaurant chain, is commonplace in Hangzhou. Located at many part of Hangzhou, West Lake, this restaurant is definitely worth trying the authentic Hangzhou cuisine. We made a short trip to Hangzhou to revisit the beautiful scenic landscape, West Lake. We had a superb accommodation experience at Hangzhou Plaza Hotel, near Wulin Square district. At 10am, the restaurant welcomed its first customers. However, at 10.30am, the entire restaurant was already full. There were people queuing outside the restaurant, waiting for their turn. We ordered both our favourite and new food items this time round. The Tomato with Egg Soup was a simple home-style soup that had a very nice subtle fragrance. The tomato chunks were sweet and fresh. NAUI GAYA serves two famous dishes from the Korean cuisine - Bulgogi and Gopchang, and other Korean specialty dishes. A popular restaurant joints among locals and the store exudes a comfortable and family-like atmosphere. Located within Hyundai Department Store at Trade Centre, the restaurant offers a variety of beef dishes, from BBQ marinated bulgogi beef to beef sukiyaki to beef rib soup. Similar to Seorae BBQ , the Marinated Beef Short Ribs were tender, juicy, and rich in flavour. The taste was heightened when eaten with fresh lettuce leaves and raw green chilli. Food rating: 4/5 (KRW 43,000) Cooked using a Brass Grill and Hotpot Pan, the marinated beef slices was cooked on the grilled and the mushrooms cooked with delicious sukiyaki broth. The broth tasted like the Japanese sukiyaki - rich, sweet with nice beef and mushroom flavour. Liang Ji Jiayi Chicken Rice (梁記嘉義雞肉飯), Taipei, Taiwan

Featured in Taiwanese popular variety show - 康熙來了and 小 S' favourite meal, I hunted down the restaurant to try the highly acclaimed Chicken Rice. Very different from Singapore's Hainanese Chicken Rice , the Taiwanese version was steamed white rice with shredded chicken meat. Similar to economical rice, you could choose the sides to accompany the rice. Highly recommended by 小S, it is most delicious if we mix the chicken rice with sunny side up. Personally, I thought that it was an excellent recommendation as it tasted great. As for the sides, priced from TWD30 onwards, they all tasted ordinary. I wondered where the wow factor was. The Taiwan-style Chicken Rice served with shredded chicken, drizzled with sauce. According to 小S, the egg is supposedly broken and mixed with the rice.
