Nanjing Impressions, Singapore

We are back at Nanjing Impressions at Plaza Singapura again. Nanjing Impressions, simply, reminisced the time we visited one of the four great ancient capitals of China.

Nanjing Impressions replicates the ancient restaurant interior, bringing diners back in time. There is also singing performances in old Chinese songs that amplify that atmosphere.

Craving for the Jinling Yong Chun Noodles with Soy Sauce Broth (金陵阳春面) again. I cannot help but to order a bowl of noodles to share. The light broth with noodles cooked in al dente style was fantastic. I could definitely finish this bowl of noodles, if not that I have to share some another. 🙊🙊🙊 (Food rating: 4.5/5)

The Jinling Roasted Duck (金陵烤鸭) was very much like our local braised duck. The sauce was fragrant with nice aromatic spices. The duck meat was tender that I don't even need to chew hard. The best of all, the duck meat tasted so much like chicken! (Food rating: 4.5/5)

I ordered a portion of Deep-Fried Shishamo (渔舟唱晚). The portion was huge and the flour covering the fishes was too thick for my liking. However, the fishes tasted great when you eat with the sauces. This is definitely to share with friends, not to be eaten alone. (Food rating: 3/5)

The Vegetarian Beancurd Skin Salad (南京素什锦) was light with rich fungus aroma. The mixture of different kinds of mushrooms like Shiitake, Shimeji, spinach and beancurd skin stripes were delightful. Because it is light, it will be best eaten first as appetisers. (Food rating: 4/5)

The Crispy Chicken soaked in Sweet and Sour Sauce (王府泡椒鸡), giving a nice sweetness and vinaigrette taste. The chicken meat was so tender that it melted immediately. (Food rating: 3.5/5)

The Spicy Crayfishes cooked in Szechuan Style (招牌麻辣小龙虾) was absolutely delicious. The crayfishes were fresh and the meat was so easy to peel out. The sauce or mala sauce was very fragrant and addictive. I kept going for the shellfish until they were gone. (Food rating: 4.5/5)

The traditional glutinous rice cakes (传统红糖小年糕) drizzled in raw sugar syrup.

Address: Plaza Singapura, #04-46, 68 Orchard Road, Singapore 238839

Stuffness Level (How full you are): 5/5
Ambience: The service staff were very attentive and friendly. Coincidentally, there was a singing performance that day. I felt as if I was back in the ancient Chinese times, enjoying the food and listening to the Chinese opera music.
