I had a strong cravings for Claypot porridge. Instead of going to G7 Sin Ma Live Seafood Restaurant, we had it at A-One Claypot House at Chinatown Point. A-One Claypot has many outlets around the island. I had my first A-One Claypot at Junction 8 Shopping Centre.
I would imagine how great the claypot porridge and other piping hot dishes would be if we were to eat during the winter season. The piping hot food warms our cold bodies. We had a superb dining experience at the restaurant as I enjoyed the dishes immensely. The total damages is $71.20.
We ordered a shredded chicken with cereal claypot porridge. The chicken meat was extremely tender and moist. It is moist not because it is in the porridge. The viscosity of the porridge was just nice - neither dilute nor thick. I love the texture and the taste of the porridge - flavourful and delicious. (Food rating: 4/5)
Chai Poh Omelette or Preserved Radish Omelette is one of my favourite side dishes whenever I have a porridge feast. The omelette was fluffy and the taste was absolutely scrumptious. You can even eat it on its own. However, the omelette was WOW when I dipped it with chilli. (Food rating: 4/5)
Sesame Oil Chicken was delicious. You can see the sizzling hot bubbles in the claypot. Be careful or you will scald your hands or even your tongue. The half chicken wings were extremely tender and the sauce was delicious. What was a little disappointing was that the dish could do a little more drops of sesame oil and shredded ginger to enhance the taste. (Food rating: 3/5)
Frog Legs with Kung Pao Spicy Sauce was unique. Unlike the one at G7 Sin Ma Live Seafood Restaurant, this was less spicy but it has its own unique taste. The frog legs meat was tender and moist. One word of caution was the food was really hot. If you are not careful enough, you will scald your tongue. Imagine you experience two 'hots' - (1) Hot - spicy flavour; and (2) Hot as in temperature.
