Ming Kee Live Seafood, Singapore (Rating: 4/5)

After my disappointing experience at Jumbo Seafood Restaurant, I was back in the game, searching for fresh, good and delicious seafood restaurant. A friend told me that I could try Ming Kee Live Seafood Restaurant along MacPherson Road. It was one of the good live seafood restaurants around the area.
Together with my family, I brought them to the restaurant to try the highly-recommended restaurant. Because it was a popular restaurant, I had to make advance reservations to get a table. But I felt that it was worth. it.

One of their signature dishes was the Bee Hoon Crab (招牌三味米粉蟹). The vermicelli or bee hoon was cooked slowly in the rich crab broth. You could even see the rich crab roe in the gravy. The crab meat was extremely fresh and you could bite and pull the meat easily with your teeth. The portion was a little big and was best shared with at least three persons. If you love preserved green chillis, why not try having a mouthful of noodles with a slice of green chilli. The sourness of the green chilli enhanced the food. It was a great combination. It is a must try!! (Food rating: 4/5)

The preserved vegetable comprising pineapple stripes, cucumber stripes and carrots was very refreshing. It cleansed your palate so that you will be ready for the feast.

Do you like snails? Have you tried one before? I have never eaten a snail before but I think the Steamed La la (清蒸啦啦) was  worth a try. This snail - La La was freshly steamed and cooked with light soy sauce and garlic. The sauce complemented the snail and brought out its sweetness. At first, I was a little skeptical. The flesh was chewy but was still acceptable. If you ever dine at Ming Kee, do not forget to order his dish. (Food rating: 4/5)

Sambal French Beans (参巴四季豆) has recently been one of my favourites. You might have noticed that I have been ordering french beans or long beans in my recent posts. I must recommend this dish. The sambal aroma was extremely fragrant. Perhaps it was because they used pork lard to cook this dish. Though eating pork lard was unhealthy, it was definitely worth it. At most, I will exercise the lard off after the meal. The vegetables was very fresh and I would even taste the crunchiness. It was fantastic and I am now salivating while writing this post. With all the highlights such as the snails, french beans and all, I expected the scallops in XO sauce would surprise me. Apparently, it tasted ordinary like any other restaurants would have cooked and served. Though I was a little disappointed, the other dishes still amazed me. (Food rating: 2.5/5)

Black Pepper Crab (黑黑椒螃蟹) is always my favourite. Because of its rich taste and aroma, I prefer eating it last as it would not affect my palette. I could savour the rich black pepper and also taste the other foods better. The rich black pepper was indeed superb and like what I love to say, "POWER!!". It had this kick that you would want to continue eating it even though you are drowned by the spiciness. That spiciness was definitely worth having it. (Food rating: 4/5)
