A Meal at Restaurant Majestic

Housed in a traditional conservation shophouse located in the heart of Chinatown, Restaurant Majestic is headed by internationally renowned, award-winning owner-cum-chef, Yong Bing Ngen. Serving Cantonese cuisine, I was excited how good the food was.

Majestic Platter, priced at $60, was the combination platter of crispy wasabi prawn, pan-seared foie gras, Peking Duck and organic greens, etc. It was report to be one of Chef's signature dishes. I liked their Peking Duck, crab claw and greens. (Food rating: 3/5)

The majestic claypot shark's fin soup with crab meat, priced at $38, was freshly prepared. The crab meat was freshly prepared and the bean sprouts gave that extra crunch to the thick soup. (Food rating: 4/5)

Hot and Sour Vegetable Soup, priced at $12, were both spicy and sour with precision. The ingredients include bamboo shoots, egg flower and vegetarian dumpling. Reminiscing the soup makes me salivate. The vegetarian dumpling was a little forgettable as I missed the hot and sour soup most. (Food rating: 4/5)

Grilled lamb chop in Chinese honey garnished with garden greens, priced at $28, were sweet and tender. The garden greens of asparagus were crunchy and the honey sauce was delicious. (Food rating: 3.5/5)

Wagyu Ribeye, priced at $58, is seared kagoshima wagyu ribeye lightly marinated in soy with yuzu spicy sauce and lava salt. The ribeye was medium done but the moisture remained. The spicy sauce with soy and yuzu was a perfect complement to the rib eye. The lava salt lightly drizzled on the steak brought out the ambrosial aroma. (Food rating: 5/5)

XO Scallops with Asparagus, priced at $36, uses the thick asparagus and cooked with delicious XO sauce. The scallops were cooked with precision. Together, they were a perfect combination.
