Having a American-Chinese Take-Out at Lok Kee

Located along Singapore's famous shopping belt, Orchard Road, Lok Kee is inspired by Chinese take-out often found in Chinatowns across cosmopolitan cities like New York, London, etc. Lok Kee elevates the Chinese take-out through the use of premium ingredients and clean flavours. Diners will enjoy a gastronomic experience whilst enjoying the urban culinary presentation of the foods like Chow Mein, etc.

We had a wonderful time at Lok Kee. The service staff were very friendly, attentive and prompt. The food was beautifully presented and the food was good. Total damages was $299.55 for 10 pax.

From time to time, we have seen food trends come and go. Bubble tea was once a very popular beverage, which still remains popular. Salted egg everything today is Singapore's latest food craze. The salted-egg dusted fish skin was crispy and savoury. It was an outrageous combination and highly addictive. Priced at $10, the salted egg yolk coated fish skin has a rich eggy flavour that you keep eating until the plate is empty within minutes. (Food rating: 4/5)

Beautifully stir-fried, the Chinese Broccoli or "Kai Lan" tasted so well with garlic. The greens, priced at $18, has a beautiful deep green colour. It was one of the popular dishes that was clean out from our table within minutes. (Food rating: 4/5)

Irish ducks are also one of the food craze in Singapore. These free-roaming ducks are fed a grain-based diet and raised in a calm environment with soft music playing in the background, which relaxes their muscles just before they are slaughtered. This makes the meat less tough. They are also defeathered by hand, which reduces bruising on the skin.

The London Duck blew us away. Priced at $58, the meat was so tender and moist that it was enjoyed by both children and adults. Lightly dipping the poultry into the sweet plum sauce, the meat was enhanced many folds that you could not help but feeling amazed. (Food rating: 4.5/5)

One of their recommended dishes, the Flaming Pineapple Beef, priced at $30, was cooked in a whole pineapple. The pineapple cubes were sweet and juicy. The beef tasted similar to beef stew. The beef cubes could be more tender. Otherwise, it was enjoyable. (Food rating: 3.5/5)

Priced at $68, Sichuan 'Mala' Grilled Fish was a little disappointing. If you expect this dish to be spicy just like a typical Sichuan dish, you will be disappointed. The sauce was mild that every children could eat the food from the dish. The beancurd rolls were cut in thin strips that combined with the fish very well. The fish was very tender and moist. The chef was conscientious and deboned the fish so that it was easy to eat. Where is the spicy numb dish and nearly charred grilled fish? (Food rating: 2.5/5)

OX Fried Rice with Crab Meat was a good staple selection. The shredded crab meat was in chunks. The XO sauce was savoury and yet, not overbearing. A great combination with generous ingredients. More importantly, the pearly white rice was chewy, just the texture I loved. This dish costs $20. (Food rating: 4.5)

You will notice a "condom-like" wet tissue pack that is very cheeky and ingenious at the same time.

I believe that this is a great place to have a enjoyable dining experience. I truly enjoyed myself intense. Lok Kee brought in some of the popular dishes from its parent company, Tung Lok, such as the London Duck (Tunglok-Xihe), etc.
