Value-for-Money, yet divine French Cuisine, Saveur, for Everyone...

Saveur Group is the brainchild of two young & enterprising friends who decided to pursue their dreams of providing quality French fare at affordable prices.

The menu at Saveur reflects the original creation of Founders Chef Joshua Khoo and Chef Dylan Ong, and was first executed in a coffee shop stall in Joo Chiat.

Introduced by a friend, we had a dinner set one of the Saveur outlets at The Cathay. A simple, yet rustic interior, the restaurant projects a no frill and comfortable ambience that any one can enjoy French fare without feeling restricted.

SALMON CONFIT (above), chives, kombu, apple and fennel, lemon vinaigrette $10.90 - Amazingly fresh. Although I generally do not enjoy Salmon, I enjoyed this fish very much. (Food rating: 4/5)

FOIE GRAS, creamy lentils, pickled pearl onion $7.90. A must try! The goose liver was moist and had a tofu-like texture. The lentils were crunchy and rich in taste. (Food rating: 4/5)

DUCK RILLETTE, baguette, romaine lettuce $7.90. Similar to pâté, the duck meat was chopped, salted heavily and cooked slowly in fat until it was tender enough to be easily shredded, and then cooled with enough fat to form a paste. Spread the pâté into the bread. Loved the fragrant bread and the pâté was divine. (Food rating: 3.5/5)

DUCK CONFIT, mashed potato, sautéed mushrooms, orange segment $14.90. One of their specialty, the confit was tender and tasted like chicken. The skin was crispy . Beneath the duck, you will find smooth mashed potato. The mushrooms had very nice fragrance which was enticing. (Food rating: 4/5)

HALF OVEN ROASTED CHICKEN, buttery savoy cabbage, natural jus $15.90. May be too big for one person. Though the meat was tender, the chicken skin could be more crispy. The mashed potato with truffle oil was the best. (Food rating: 3.5/5)

BEEF TENDERLOIN 160g, pan seared australian tenderloin, homemade gnocchi, mushrooms, compound cheese, herb butter, natural jus $24.90. I loved the tenderloin as the meat was grilled at the right temperature and drizzled with salt and pepper, bringing out the taste. (Food rating: 4.5/5)

COOKIES & MILK, cookie dough ice cream, milk soil, cherry kirsch, peanut butter, honey cloud $9.90. This is a superb dessert and is definitely my personal favourite. (Food rating: 4.5/5)

CHOCOLATE & HAZELNUT, chocolate mousse, crushed hazelnut, broken raspberries, chocolate tuile, hazelnut praline $10.90. This is an equally delicious dessert. (Food rating: 4/5)
