Poh Kee Satay - a brand for more than 20 years...

Nestled in a quiet neighbourhood along Upper Serangoon Road, you will find an auntie selling Satay in a little stall within a coffee shop. Outside her shop, there were old newspaper cutting, displaying that her husband and her are the first Singaporean Hawker who franchised their grilled meats and to do it with the latest technology in 1995.

The brand Poh Kee Satay was previously known as the "Hougang Sixth Milestone Satay" where her father-in-law was famous for then.

We ordered 10 sticks of Mutton, Beef and Chicken meat and three Ketupat (a type of dumpling made from rice packed inside a diamond-shaped container of woven palm leaf pouch).

The chicken meat (left) and mutton meat (right) were tender and juicy. The charred corners of the meat made the meats more delicious.

The beef meat was equally great. Amongst the three different meats from Poh Kee Satay, I preferred the chicken best, followed by mutton and finally beef. The taste of each meat may differ from stall to stall.

The Ketupat was moist and went very well with the Poh Kee's own blended peanut sauce. The peanut sauce was added with their very own concocted pineapple puree that made the peanut sweet and spicy at the same time. It was addictive and extremely enjoyable!!

Although the auntie could be cranky at times and every additional item like condiments are chargeable, the food when served will erase all your grievances away.
