[Closed] Parkway Mini Steamboat @ HDB Hub Toa Payoh, Singapore (formerly Mini Steamboat Delight)

Formerly known as Mini Steamboat Delight, the newly rebranded Parkway Mini Steamboat was founded in 1987, providing delicious mini steamboat ever since. Popular for its mouthwatering homemade fragrant chilli sauce and wide variety of steamboat dishes, diners can enjoy a great feast. Diners can choose either Chicken Broth, or Tom Yam Soup or both together in one hot pot.

The last time I visited Parkway Mini Steamboat was January this year. Since then, I did not have the opportunity to drop by the restaurant. It was a special night last evening as I had strong cravings for its tom yam soup. Even though we arrived at almost 9pm, the restaurant was still bustling with people.

We ordered our usual dishes - beancurd (tofu) skin roll, beef slices, mutton slices, fish balls, fish dumplings, fish glue, golden mushrooms and homemade lime juice. The total damages was SGD60.20, which also included a bowl of fragrant rice.

After patronising the restaurant for many years, the entire dining experience troubled us immensely. The tom yam soup lacked the kick - perhaps the sourness that might add that extra punch to the hot pot. The chill sauce, which used to be more fragrant and spicy, seemed to have a mellowed flavour.

Fish Glue

Fish Dumplings

Fish Maw - best eaten when they are soaked in the tom yam broth.

The Fortune Ball seemed to be saltier than I remembered. However, the springiness remained.
