Steamed Fishcakes in a Cup, Shanghai, China (Food rating: 2.5/5)

You may refer it as Eomukguk (Fish Cake Soup) in Korean and Oden Oden in Singapore/Malaysia. Fish cakes or Eomuk is originated in Japan. It is now a common food in Korea and Taiwan today. The dish is usually enjoyed as a snack or a light meal.

Along Nanjing East Pedestrian Street in Shanghai, you will find quite a number of stops selling this dipping fishcakes with skewers. I loved to buy these as snacks. But they are very filling. You may add chilli oil to make it more spicy. The total cost for 5 sticks was RMB20.
