Happy Thanksgiving! It was a great day to start the beautiful day with a mixture of rain and snow. There were slurries in the air by the time we started our adventure. Before that, we wanted to have something hot and spicy before we start our journey. The temperature was about two degrees. Because of the icy cold winds, we were feeling cold. We thought having a bowl of hot and delicious Korean food would be an excellent choice. With a consensus of opinions, we headed to Namoodol at Union Street for our Korean feast.
We ordered a bento set of seasoned black pork and a bowl of Yukgaejang - Beef broth with vegetables and meat.
Priced at USD9, it was a very worthwhile lunch set. We have a bowl of hot and spicy beef soup, a bowl of white rice and two kimchi garnishes. In the soup, there were fiddleheads. noodles, beef, eggs, golden mushrooms, egg and leeks in hot and spicy soup. The ingredients in the soup could be a complete meal. But what about the white rice? Well, after finishing most of the food in the soup, I threw the rice into the soup. You might think that it was too much food but I think it was a fantastic decision.
I was completely surprised how the rice soaked in the hot spicy beef broth soup could taste so delicious. I could not stop myself from eating and digging for rice amongst all the other ingredients. It was amazing how I managed to finish the entire food myself.
As for the kimchis, I loved the cucumber kimchi the most. It was well marinated and very crunchy.
Overall, the Yukgaejang was heavenly and a definite-must try. If you are in the vicinity, why not give it a try and share your thoughts with me?
