古城小灶, Flushing, Queens, New York, United States (Food rating: 3/5)

At New York Food Court, we did not have any problem looking for food. In recent years, the number of food courts mushroomed in Flushing, Queens that you would be spoilt for choices.

In the food court, we noticed a stall - 古城小灶 selling pancakes and it seemed to be rather popular. We thought that it would be great to give it a try.

We ordered two dishes and spent a total of USD11.70.

Premium Egg Pancake (原味鸡蛋夹), priced at USD4.95, tasted so much like Roti Prata or Roti Canai. The crispy crust and soft dough with fragrant egg omelette was heavenly. However, there seemed to be salt drizzled between pancake roll. How I wish there was curry to dip the fragrant egg pancake with. (Food rating: 2.5/5)

Hot and Spicy Beef Strips (麻辣牛肉炒), priced at USD6.75, was made from pancake cut into strips and then cooked with beefs in hot and spicy sauce. However, this dish was definitely not spicy at all. Perhaps my threshold for spicy food is very high as none of them apart from Korean food were spicy enough for me. This dish was rather plain and bland. Forgettable. (Food rating: 2.5/5)
