Healthy Soba IKI is a fast food joint that serves healthy soba noodles. Located at One Raffles Place, it serves healthy Japanese noodles made from 100 percent buckwheat flour and water.
I had the chance to dine at Healthy Soba IKI and ordered myself a mini soba and mini curry don set. Priced at SGD15, the set comes with a mochi ball as dessert and a free soba tea.
The soba noodles, made from 100 percent pure buckwheat flour and water was chewy and cooked in al dente style. The noodles were drizzled with sesame seeds. the only setback about the noodles was that the noodles clogged together when it was cold. I had to stir a little to unclog the noodles. Dipping the noodles into the soba sauce, the noodles tasted refreshing and delicious. The dipping sauce was just nice and was not salty too.
The mini curry don was just normal comprising a small bowl of white rice and topped with Japanese curry. It was ordinary.
Overall, the food was very filling for one person. The set was worth it. It needs more marketing efforts to create awareness to attract more patronage. The restaurant was a little too quiet, I must say.
