Street Food - Deep fried Soft Shell Crab, Hangzhou, China (Rating: 3/5)

There are many food streets in Hangzhou, similar to Taiwan. At Hefang Pedestrian Street (河坊街), you will get to eat many local specialties from Hangzhou. For instance, snacks, tea, food and many more.

Along Hefang Pedestrian Street, there is a famous food alley (河坊街美食街). You will get to eat many interesting food. Of course, the narrow food alley is very crowded. You have to be aggressive to get a table.

Finally, something caught our eyes and we saw the deep fried crab stick (炸螃蟹串). The fragrance of the seafood spread through the narrow alley. Again, you have to be aggressive enough to order your food. Sadly, many people who came after me got their crab sticks faster than me. Behind the stall, you will see two huge bins where you can spit out the shell. The crab meat was very soft and juicy. The chefs have mastered the skill and cooked the crab without overcooking it. The marinate was good but it was a little salty. Though it was salty, it was still delicious. I guess it is a matter of give and take. (Food rating: 3/5)
