L and L Chinese Seafood Restaurant, San Francisco, United States

Part of the San Francisco Bay Area, the El Cerrito has a population of 24,000. The city was founded by the refugees from the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake. Since then it has a community in the city. University of California Berkeley is also located near El Cerrito (5 miles).

We were visiting our friends in San Francisco. When we are back from Napa Valley, we stopped by El Cerrito and had lunch at L & L Chinese Seafood Restaurant. This restaurant, located near the El Cerrito area, is well-received by the community. We thought that we should give it shot.

Flat noodles with XO sauce look very simple. It is made of flat noodles (Cheng Fun) and XO sauce. I love the way the chef cooked this dish. It was delicious. Thinking of it again makes me salivate. It is a simple yet delicious dish. Who can resist? (Food rating: 3.5/5)

The Flat noodles with beef is similar to the Stir-fried beef Kway Teow back home. It is stir fried with generous portions of bean sprouts and beef. Beware! The portion is huge and you definitely need to share with another. (Food rating: 3/5)

Chow Mien is yellow egg noodles stir fried with bean sprout and some seasoning. Among the three noodles, I like this the least. Although the noodles is equally good, I think it is the type of noodles that I prefer. Somehow, I prefer white flat noodles to yellow egg noodles. (Food rating: 3/5)

Every time I am dining at a dim sum restaurant, I never fail to order Prawn dumplings or Ha Gao (虾饺). From the texture of the dumpling skin, you would know if the quality is good or not. The prawn dumpling at L&L is normal and nothing I could be screaming of. However, it was a delight to eat something familiar in the United States once in a while. (Food rating: 2.5/5)

Flat noodles (肠粉) with Roasted Pork Meat is always my favourite. I never fail to order this dish too whenever I am dining at a dim sum restaurant. I love the freshly made flat noodles rather than commercial ones. The commercial ones are thicker and more coarse. More importantly, the sauce must also be good. It must be light and flavourful. I like the flat noodles with the roasted pork meat. However, I find the sauce a little salty. Otherwise, it is a good cheong fun. (Food rating: 3/5)

The Deep-fried chicken with garlic caught me by surprise. The fried chicken was perfectly marinated. At first, I was a little skeptical when my friend ordered the chicken with garlic. I thought that the chicken will have a strong garlic taste. To my surprise, the garlic taste was subtle and suits my taste. Everyone was praising how delicious the chicken is. Yummy I must say.
