Ippudo, Singapore

Founded in 1985 in Japan's ramen capital of Hakata by Shigemi Kawahara, the internationally renowned Ramen King and CEO of Chikaranomoto Company. With over 65 stores worldwide, Ippudo opened an outlet at the Mandarin Gallery in Singapore.

What is unique and special about Ippudo is the high quality noodles, hospitable service with attention to detail and the unique ambience.

After dining at Ippudo SG, I finally remembered to take pictures and write a post. How forgetful of me.

Both of us spent about $60-ish. It is worth it.

Dashimaki Tamago is a Japanese-style omelette roll. When served, the eggs were freshly prepared. Like a typical dashimaki tamago, there was dashi (fish stock) after taste. I like the eggs. It is a good appetiser to share in a group. Food Rating: 3/5

Stuffed chicken wings or Teba Gyoza was delicious! I love the crispy marinated chicken skin and the moist tender meat. It tasted delicious and I am unable to describe. When I am back at Ippudo, I will not hesitate to order this again. Food Rating: 3.5/5

Goma Q, served in fresh Japanese cucumber with sesame, is an excellent cold appetisers. The cucumber was very refreshing. Dipped with sesame, the cucumber tasted even better. It was delightful. I love the way it is served - a long strip of cucumber. Yummy!! Food Rating: 4/5

Chashu Rice served with rice over simmered pork topping. I love the Japanese pearly white rice. The chashu was moist, tender and juicy. Eating with the rice was superbly divine! I ate the crispy seaweed with white rice and it was fantastic. The quality of food was indeed excellent. Food Rating: 3.5/5

We cannot miss ordering ramen at Ipuddo. We ordered the Akamaru Special that served Akamaru with flavoured egg, tender pork cube and bamboo shoots. The noodles were perfectly cooked in al dente style. The broth was rich and nothing beats them. Unforgettable noodles. Food Rating: 3/5

On top of the ramen, we ordered a Tamago - Flavoured Egg and Kakuni - simmered tender pork cube. The egg was wonderfully prepared. The egg white was cooked and the yolk was still in its liquid form. I wondered how it can be done. I love this egg. As for the Kakuni, the tender pork was equally wonderful. Food Rating: 4/5
