Russell House Tavern, Boston, United States

Executive Chef Michael Scelfo at Russell House Tarven delivers a menu of modern interpretations of American classics. The restaurant was a wonderful place for gatherings for all occasion at Harvard Square.

My friends and I decided to chill out after a hard day's work. Recommended by one of my friends, we went to Russell House Tarven for dinner and drinks. The restaurant has a warm and nice ambiance. A 2-storey restaurant had a superb seating area with a bar at the basement. We were served by a friendly service staff who assisted us with our orders. We wanted to order a variety of food to share.

We ordered Deviled Local Farm Eggs (starters), Melted Cambozola Cheese (starters), R. House Grass Fed Burger (Entree) and The Angry Queen (pizza).

For starters, the Deviled Local Farm Eggs were served with Boquerone (a type of appetiser tapas), oil cured olives and chilli oil. The eggs were deliciously superb. I like the soft egg white. When dipped with the chilli, the starter dish blew you away like a tornado. You would not know what hits you. (Food Rating: 3.5/5)

Recommended by the service staff, we took his advice and ordered the Melted Cambozola Cheese. The caramelised onions and onions in the pot of melted cheese tasted very well with the thyme-garlic flatbread. The melted cheese was heavenly. I wished I could order more but we were sharing then. (Food Rating: 4/5)

When the R. House Grass Fed Burger arrived, we were surprised. We didn't expect the burger to be so huge. When the burger was cut into four pieces, it was still a big piece of burger. The 8 oz Maine Family Farms Ground Beef was wrapped with grilled English Muffins, sharp cheddar, bacon and caramelized onions. It was a huge platter of potato fries that came with two dips. For the entree, I loved the beef patty. It was tender and juicy. The fries were nicely sauteed with salt. Loved it again! (Food Rating: 3.5/5)

After the two starters and entree, we were already stuffed. I could see my tummy bloating. The pizza came in a big pan. Made from marinated and roasted tomatoes and basil, this simple pizza - The Angry Queen amazed me. I did not expect the pizza without any fillings could taste as good. Even though we were full, we could not stop eating. Pizza, you rock! (Food Rating: 4/5)

After dinner, all of us had the same thought - We are coming back again!!!
