My family and I had our reunion dinner at the Mandarin Court restaurant (previously named as Pine Court Restaurant). We had fond memories of the excellent quality of food and service two years ago at Pine Court.

This year, we chose the most expensive dinner menu and added one more dish - prawns. We were looking forward to the excellent food again.

To our dismay, the food quality was not up to par. The food was normal as if we had ordered another dinner menu. When it came to the fish, it was half cooked. We requested for a replacement but was only offered to same fish recooked. When the servers showed us the fish for the second time, it was smashed and badly presented. We were explained that they had ran out of the same fish. If we were to request for a replacement, we could be given the second best fish.

The first dish was the yu sheng, followed by soup. Both are tasted normal. I like the roasted suckling pig. The skin was very crispy. The prawn tasted only ok, followed by the fish. The scallops were freshly prepared and you could taste the crunchiness. The vermicelli served was nice. The bird's nest with almond cream was appreciated for those who love almond.
