Curry Katsu Chicken Don
Overall rating: 4/5
With our love for curry, we made sure that we tried any type of curry available. We decided to try the Curry Katsu Chicken Don at West Udon. Interestingly, they have an item – Half Curry Katsu Chicken Don and we decided to give it a try.
Price: Priced at $4.50. It is a reasonable and affordable price for children or adults with small stomachs.
Quality: The thick curry has a strong aroma that makes us salivating when it was placed on our dinner table. The Katsu Chicken was freshly fried with crispy crust and juicy chicken meat inside. You must try this – Curry Katsu Chicken Don!!
Store layout: The restaurant has a typical Japanese layout concept with wooden furniture and paper lamps. The store is strategically located along Union Street and Northern Blvd. You will not miss it.
Oyaku Don
Overall rating: 2.5/5
We wanted to try something different from the last rice bowl we tried the last time at West Udon. We chose Half Oyaku Don from the menu. Oyaku Don is cooked with chicken thighs, eggs, soy sauce, mirin sauce, sugar and sake.
Price: Reasonably priced for one. Suitable for children, adults with small stomachs or for sampling.
Quality: The ingredients were freshly prepared but were a little too bland for my taste. You may want to try Oyaku Don.
"looks great on the outside, so-so in the inside"
Nabeyaki
Overall rating: 4/5
It has been some time since we last ate Japanese food. The last time we had was Oyaku Don. We wanted to try something different today and decided to try Nabeyaki.
Price: Affordable. Enough for one.
Quality: The udon had a very nice texture. The clear broth was mouth-watering. It was light and did not contain any MSG. I loved the Tempura Prawn too.
In mathematical terms, Udon + Clear Soup Base + Tempura Prawn = Nabeyaki = Superb!!
"look at the delicious noodles, and tempura prawns... Omg... I cannot stand looking at it without salivating."
