[Closed] Sago Tea Cafe, New York, United States

Bubble tea is not uncommon at Flushing, Queens. You can see bakeries, restaurants, cafes and even small food joints are selling bubble tea. Bubble tea is originated in Taiwan in the 1980s. I decided to try out one of the bubble tea joints – Sago Tea Café.

Shin Ramen with fish balls

Overall rating: 2.5/5

Price: Approximately $6. Fairly expensive.

Quality: Shin Ramen with fish balls is served with egg in SAGO broth, topped with scallion. In fact, it tasted more like cooking a packet of Shin Hot & Spicy ramen with egg and fish balls. The fish balls were stuffed with minced meat. If you like to have a high-class instant noodles, you may want to order this. Otherwise, you can cook it yourself at home. Forgettable.
Honey Chicken Wings - tender and sweet at the same time.

Salted Popcorn Chicken were delicious.

Green Tea with Sago Pearl was fragrant. The sago pearl were chewy and soft at the same time.

"Such a cute color. Who can resist?"
Price: Fairly affordable but maybe for the color of the drink.

Quality: You will be served with an ice-blended cordial drink. The drink was a little sweet but you will love the baby blue color.

Store layout: The store is strategically located diagonally across the Main Street Subway Station. There are two doors in Sago. When you enter the first door, there is an order window for takeouts. As you open the second door, you may dine in. During an extremely hot day, the café is always crowded with people – who dine and order takeouts. Oh well, if you want to have a cool drink, you may have to wait. The staff were very efficient but unfriendly.

"This cafe is always crowded with people. If you are able to get a seat, you should also get a lottery ticket. You may win the top price."
